Story
You ask the minibus driver to stop because your grandmother’s house is just ahead. You step onto the yard, and the dog is barking again — it forgot you from the last visit. But Grandma is already joyfully coming out from the summer kitchen.
You shout, "Hi!" and she responds with an even longer "Hiiiii!" She hugs you, kisses you, and is delighted to see you. Then she invites you inside. After a few general questions like, "How was the road?" and "What's new?", she suddenly falls silent with wide eyes. "The child needs to be fed!" And in a flash, she brings everything she’s cooked to the table.
The smell of freshly baked pies from the oven in the summer kitchen wafts even outside. They’re already on the table, covered with a cloth. The scent of cherries is intoxicating. You’re loving this atmosphere.
You grab a pie, sit on the bench under the kitchen, and watch Grandma pour water for the geese. They rush over, stretch out their long necks, and drink greedily as if they can’t get enough.
"Well, are the pies good?" she asks. You just nod silently and keep eating.
